Thank you to my dear friend, Dawn, for being a guest blogger and sharing her story!
Manifesting is neither easy nor comfortable. Sounds daunting, doesn’t it? But now that I am on the other side of manifesting some amazing changes, my life has become an adventure.
Thanks to Allie, I learned that manifestation is more than a vision board – though that is certainly a helpful tool. Sure we’ve been told to just put a picture of a mansion onto a cork board and magically we will own that exact house 5 years later, but I’ve learned that manifestation takes a lot of uncomfortable work…on myself.
What I’ve learned through Allie’s classes and her feedback, along with other great sources such as Abraham Hicks and Dr. Wayne Dyer, is that we manifest and attract who and what we are. Therefore, my hard work included truly evaluating my current surroundings, circle of friends, and circumstance; understand that these are all simply a reflection of who I am; determine what needed to change and improve in my life; then do the hard work.
Once I really delved into self-examination, began to question my belief system, and started making changes, things around me started to change, too. But here’s what so unexpected: things started to fall away in a way that made me very uncomfortable. Job, anyone? Both my and my significant other’s jobs went away due to contract changes. I fought this, cried, worried, and crunched numbers despite the fact that we both hated our Joe-Versus-the-Volcano jobs where we were taken for granted.
My significant other then had an opportunity in the desert of California, and for some reason the job kept getting delayed. Needless to say I was constantly working on my vision board pinning words that described the pay, location, hours, etc. of the work we’d like to have.
Then I heard Abraham Hicks say something that I remembered from Allie’s class: You manifest through feelings. Allie then helped us start from scratch, and our reworked dream job looked like this:
- I am excited every morning to go to work.
- I am appreciated by the company.
- I enjoy working with my coworkers.
- I feel supported by my company.
- I am accurately compensated for my work.
- I feel freedom.
- I contribute and am appreciated.
Within a few weeks, the California job fell through to our dismay. But Allie helped us realize that the California job went away, because we were no longer attracting it thanks to adjusting our belief system. (As a side note, we later learned that it was a not-so-friendly working environment. What a relief to know that we are no longer attracting that!)
After working an enjoyable four-month temporary contract, we were once again living off of savings waiting for the right job to come along. We were advised to be open to anything, so my significant other considered jobs in upstate New York, Southern Maryland, Northern Virginia, Virginia Beach, Florida, Nevada, even Abu Dhabi.
At the point of exhausting our savings, he received a call about an amazing job. Within 24 hours he was hired to work all around the world doing what he loves, and I am allowed to travel with him. He will will work from home when not traveling until he’s required to move to the office location, which just happens to be our number one choice of cities. We had been trying to move there since we first started this process two years ago. What a crazy journey!
Note from Allie: I am so blessed that Dawn shared this story. Manifesting is not simply wishful thinking (although that is a good start). It requires making a decision, getting clear and staying focused. Manifesting what you truly desire (not what your brain or society tells you to desire) is not just for gurus, famous people, and people with 6-figures in their bank account … it is available to all of us. Manifesting around you belief system and blocks takes time. But with genuine desire and focus, it can be yours!
